Toshiba 1T USB 3.0 external drive review
Needed to have an additional high speed disc drive, but ran out of space in my desktop PC case. Will use the drive primarily for backups. Attached this drive to my Windows 10 computer where it is automatically seen. It does not have to be attached for each use. I will leave it attached all the time. Backup ups have run quickly at about 5Gbs/ sec. Of course it is portable So, this works well for me and is a very good deal for the price. Quiet, fast Toshiba external harddrive. 1TB is a lot of storage. Works great with my Mac after formatting.
Great external hard drive. I've still owned my old Toshiba brand external hard drive from 7 years ago and it works to this day. Just format the drive when you receive it if you use a macbook like I do. Go to utility and erase disk. 1TB can store a lot of things. This easily beats out other competitors in terms of reliability. The thing is small, light, nicely finished. But the best part is that it's rugged, reliable, and it works wonders. No more do I need to worry about computer hard drive crashes with this little gem and it's more than adequate space to store a full backup with plenty of extra storage space for music, videos, and text files. Bought this to connect to a Channel Master DVR. Easy to connect but had to let the DVR reformat the HD to Ext4 which is a Linux standard format. That's OK because I use Linux on all my computers so I can use the HD as a backup if needed. Don't know if it would work formatted as Ext4 on Microsoft or Apple. Was hoping to copy recorded files to my computer and play them as videos but the recorded files are ***.ts and haven't found anything to convert these to *.mp4 or other standard video files. Haven't look very much so that may still be possible. Anyone know of a converter app. Good little HD and worth the money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
