    Surface 3

Great tablet! Very clear, crisp, and responsive screen! Easy to type on the touch screen keyboard. Also very fast, haven't experienced any lag while running multiple programs and websites. In my opinion it's very light and easy to handle, my father thought it was a bit heavy but he's used to his iPad. I primarily use this for college courses to take notes, read e-text books, and studying (all of which it's amazing for). It's not too big so it doesn't take up too much room on a desk but it's large enough to easily read things and watch videos. I think I'll start trying to use it at work to help with on the go statistics tracking and report writing. Overall I highly recommend, especially if you can find it for under $280.00!

    Lots of things missing

I got this to replace my iPad. It is OK, but is missing a lot of features I liked. Like the first letter of a sentence being capitalized. And spellcheck and auto correct. Just little things, but important for a bad speller like myself. Also, while they say it will take a 129gb SD card, it doesn't. It keeps unmounting and support has no idea of why other than to tell me to use a 64gb card instead. Which I do, but if they say it can use a 128, it should use a 128. Other than that, it works OK. It is more of a replacement for a laptop than a tablet. And there are not nearly as many apps as for any other tablet, but I'm sure they will catch up eventually.

  • Nice computer, but a bit slower than full laptop

The Surface 3 tablet computer is functional like a full computer but lags a bit in speed. The Atom Processor just doesn't have the power that a full computer has. the pen works well in this case, no apparent lag with the screen write features. I have an older Ipad as well and I have to admit the ease of using an ipad with the many apps and market acceptance makes the surface a bit hard to migrate too in its entirety. Another thing I wished I did was get a surface with the cellular feature build in as the need to use my hotspot phone feature or some wireless access is a little hassle to use.

  • Love this thing more then my Surface Pro 3!

I was a little skeptical buying a now 'Pro' version of the Surface. Once I read that the Surface 3 was Windows based, and not the horrible RT version, I was sold. I received mine and it also had Windows 10 on it. I can now run this thing in a computer the size of my iPad, but as a real PC too. It has amazing functionality, screen is good, has a great sound system, has a decent processor that I can actually play 'real' games on, has a real keyboard, and good memory. On top of that, it has good battery life where I can watch movies, play games, do work, and the battery has good life. I also like the fact that you can use a regular charger for your Android phone rather then a different charger like most laptops. All in all, this has replaced my iPad, Lenovo Laptop, and MacBook. Yes, I am an advocate of this, and no, I am not being paid by Microsoft.

  • Great if you like this style

Ok, to be clear its a great product if you are primarily a tablet user / internet surfer. I've decided it's just not for me. The keyboard cover flopping around is not a feature I enjoy. Always careful how you pick it up, set it down or move it so the stand doesn't collapse or trap a finger. Going back to netbooks & convertibles now that the Intel Z8300 & 8700 are more available in combo with 4GB RAM. Tech trickles down & we all benefit. I think these were a solution to a problem that didn't exist. I have a second one with a dead screen & use for a light desktop work & media player using a HDMI monitor & wireless keyboard. It is a powerful little device that doesn't require cooling & has endless storage with a USB 3.0 hub plugged in. I just don't care for it's intended use.

  • Lightweight; works well for travel

I have been looking for a product like this to use for travel. It is a good combination of the features of a laptop and tablet. I appreciate the touchscreen and the ability to walk around easily while reading on the Surface 3 while using it as a tablet. For context, I am a history teacher and I teach and take classes online, so I spend much of my time reading, writing, or grading papers. The keyboard cover enables me to type comments and papers as needed without having to take my heavier, larger laptop with me.

  • MS Surface 3 performed as advertised

So far this has performed well. It had Windows 10 home edition as an upgrade. I added a 200GB Sandisk micro SD card for additional disk storage capacity with a total of 328GB. I added MS Office 2016 separately and removed the MS onedrive features. I wanted all my data on the tablet system on not in the MS cloud. I loaded my entire iTunes music library (over 100GB) on the system. I also connected multiple displays through my Plugable docking station which also worked well. I just for fun, I shared my display through our home wifi system and displayed it on our 65in TV.

  • Microsoft surface 3 4/128

It is good tablet, not perfect one, but still good. It is light weight (same as iPad 4), with big screen, good proportion and comfortable in use. Plus, it has intel core - it can run as normal pc. Win10 still not perfect: sound can disappear sometimes, flashplayer is not for finger use, two settings (pc and tablet), is not always blocked after switch off. But overall - it is good solid workstation with ability to use as tablet (or tablet with ability to use as workstation :-) ).

  • Money well spent!

This thing runs like a champ , much better screen and graphics than any of the "IPad" devices we own . Plus you have access to all windows based software . With keyboard and mouse u can even game on these and I mean call of duty not candy crush. Battery life can be an issue but there are loads of power saving features once you know what you need and what u can disable. My daughter (an art major) says the drawing with the stylus/pencil was so much better on the surface than the iPad for high end art projects. Not my realm but thought it might help someone decide for 150$ u can't go wrong the new surface models are 2000$ oh yea built in sd card reader nuff said

  • EXCELLENT little tablet.

Initial quality is excellent; 4GB RAM for a 64bit O/S is surprisingly fast; 128GB is still kinda small but this is not supposed to be a primary computer, and mainly to be used for the web or note taking etc and saving files either to the Cloud or on a plug-in USB memory stick. Battery life is surprisingly low for recharge; only about 5 hours, but if you buy one of those mobile recharger units online, it's not an issue. MUCH better than the cheaper windows tablets out there, but perhaps not as good as the units from :Lenovo (?).........VERY limited USB connectivity, and you need to buy the Docking station to overcome that. On balance though, depending on what you want to use this for, one of the better Windows 10 tablets out there!
