    I like it

It’s like Minecraft in space. It’s cool. I do understand the many criticisms of the game, and that’s why I didn’t pay full price. It’s pretty neat for what I paid. I enjoy exploring and flying to other places. It’s not a perfect game, but the hate it has received isn’t entirely fair.

    Fascinating Yet Frustrating

No Man's Sky is a beautiful looking game. The worlds, creatures, plants, etc. are well designed and interesting to look at. I also enjoy flying around on planets and between stars. What I dislike about the game is how frustrating it can be to properly maintain your inventory and building the things you need to be able to fly your ship and go to warp. Also, I made the mistake of attacking a larger ship in orbit over a world and now when I leave a world I am instantly attacked and blown up as I don't have a good grasp of fighting in space. It is rather frustrating to be trapped on one world and it can get a little dull during longer game play. If you love keeping track of the metals and minerals you have in inventory then No Man's Sky is for you. Otherwise, you might want to skip it.

  • Great concept, but needs some tweaks.

I read all of the negative reviews on this game but still wanted to give my own opinion on it. So I went ahead and got it, and I am very impressed with what the devs were capable of doing with the random algorithm of planets created. There is a strong vibe of Metroid and Minecraft used as the game literally throws you crashed down on your first planet with no instructions. Mining plays a big part of the game and it's how you get the resources to keep yourself alive and finally off the planet. There is a bit of repetition but that can be easily fixed with a simple update which I'm pretty sure we will get later down the road.

  • Brilliant concept. Execution a little lacking.

There doesn't seem to be any overarching goal in this game. Maybe I just haven't found the main objective yet. So far, I've been just going from planet to planet exploring. Graphics are sort of simple and lacking in detail. The animals, plants and land features are not very realistic looking and in many cases childish looking. Shouldn't the animals on cold planets have thick fur? Many planets light years apart have very similar plants and features. And so far they all seem to have the same flying scanning drones and "alien made" modules, pods and mini factories. So I guess we are to believe the same aliens have colonized all these planets? The jet pack is fun when exploring on foot, but why is the gravity exactly the same on a small moon as it is on a large planet? Hmmm... The concept of this game is great, but it's too bad it wasn't developed by a bigger company with more creative horsepower and experience with open-environment games like Bethesda Studios. Then it could have been fantastic.

  • No Man's Sky gets the title right

The game is an interesting experience but sadly the experience doesn't last long as the game itself is a long grind of the same tasks over and over again. Great looking colors and some occasions of interest, however the moments are very spread out. If interested keep an eye out for future updates because the developers have said they will continue to improve upon the game.

  • I tried to like it, but I would rather stay at work later and get more REAL paying work done, that would be more fun.

I tried to like it, but I would rather stay at work later and get more REAL paying work done, that would be more fun. Same planets over and over again, there is so much they could have done, and just did not bother. The most unique planet I saw, was a planet with oceans of blood... that was it, the only difference in well over 40 planets, all they did was change the color of the ocean to red and call it blood. If you are doing the atlas stone quest, just sell the stones and buy a ship, what you get at the end is pretty much nothing. It just creates a new star that you will never see, and claims the next player will spawn there... so you pretty much give all the work and time to get the stones to someone else that will use it for a bout 10 minutes.

  • Attention.....

..I'm not sure what you thought it was gonna be. No it's not a shoot em up, COD type game. Or an open world GTA type game. IT'S A SPACE EXPLORATION GAME. There are trillions (yes literally) trillions of planets to explore. You collect items to trade, upgrade your space ships, meet alien lifeforms, deal with adverse conditions on planets and so forth. It's not an RPG or FPS and so all the people that love those types of games will be disappointed. I love them too, but that's not what No Man's Sky is about. The people that are whining are whining because it's NOT a copycat of anything else. One of the best games ever, but don't compare it with anything else you've ever played, because it ISN'T.

  • Different but Awesome!!!!

No Man's Sky is a survival, crafting game- and it's beautiful! It's a very chill game compared to what you're probably used to. Some planets are very easy going and others are just dangerous. The graphics are awesome! The gathering of resources and crafting is great! I was skeptical about this game, however it's turning out to be one of the best games I've ever played. The possibilities in the future with this game are endless and I'm even more excited for that.

  • Excellent Game for the price.

Id say spend the 20 bucks for this one, its a no brainer. The game came sealed up and the disk was in flawless condition, havent had any problems with it, game started right up. If you are like me and enjoy games with exploration and adventure, this ones GREAT. Its everything im looking for in space games. However, there's alot of grinding of materials that needs to be done before you can get anywhere. All that aside. I Love this game!

  • Unlike Any Game I Have Ever Played

Open world-check. New species of flora and fuana- check. Quadrillions of planets to explore- quadruple check. Amazing graphics and endless gameplay that will leave you boggled by sheer vastness-check. No Man's Sky is one of the best sandbox games I have ever played, not comparable to anything prior to it's release.
