It'll get you by.
The Lenovo Y40-80 is a well-built gaming laptop with a few flaws. Users will encounter some difficulty playing a number of games due to the dual graphics setup: some games refuse to recognize the dedicated graphics card and will instead use the integrated Intel chipset. It will also not play many games made after 2013, because it simply doesn't have the capabilities. Skyrim (classic) and Fallout: New Vegas run fine at around 30 FPS, but Fallout 4 AND the Far Cry series were difficult to get to run, and Fallout 4 will only work in borderless windowed mode leaving the user with a framerate around 12 or lower, on average. Also, Windows 8.1 is a disaster for gaming, and no part of the laptop can be upgraded, the CPU is soldered to the motherboard. If you are only a casual gamer or prefer older games from GOG, or if you are doing some graphic arts work, etc. I would recommend it, but if you are looking for power and compatibility, you would be better off with a different model. This would make a great business laptop, as well. All in all, it's still my favorite computer, but a decent tower with similar specs would blow it out of the water, any day.
