Excellent Full-Featured Compact Flash
I purchased the 430EX III-RT speedlight because I had planned to also upgrade my camera body from the Canon 5D Mark II, even though my old Canon flash is compatible with the latest bodies. I put both my new EOS R and the 430EX III-RT through two and a half weeks of travel photography and was very pleased with both. The flash is sturdy and compact but very powerful, and it produces consistent results. Like other speedlights, the direct flash can produce harsh shadows, so the use of a flash modifier is highly recommended. It’s a Canon! Watch for the RT designation
Canon’s flashes are great. This is a newer version with the RT designation. The RT system is fantastic once you become familiar with it. If you like or need infrared this doesn’t do it. Better to keep this smaller flash on the hot shoe and control the 600 ex- rt off camera with it. Having the option to bounce or fill is better than just using the ST-E3 rt on the hot shoe. Especially if you don’t have a ST-E3 rt. If you are looking for a smaller flash with no rt connectivity just for fill I would use the built in flash( on certain models)or get a smaller one like the 270 ex or 320ex I prefer the real Canon brands but of course you have to pay a lot more than going with Godox or Yongnuo which are the popular choice.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
