Great Melting Pot
This is a great little pot for molding your own round balls. It hold about 2 or 3 lbs of lead, and you need to use a small ladle to dip and pour. For the person who wants to make their own bullets, it's a great inexpensive way to get started. I'd never made my own round balls before, and in about 15 minutes I had it figured out. LEE PRECISION MELTER
Great little unit. Using it for annealing brass in melted industrial salts. Gets plenty hot, but doesn't transit heat to your workbench top. The dial numbers correlate closely to the actual temperature of the molten material which I verified with an infrared thermometer and a type K thermocouple and a digital thermometer. Works for me!
Works perfect. Melts lead fast so casting can begin. Any sloughed off lead melts quickly and temp stays constant. If you don't like cleaning off dross then this is not for you. To keep the lead alloy clean and usable constant fluxing and scraping of dross is needed, other then that the only solution is to get a bottom poor unit. Since I do not cast a lot of bullets, around 200 at a time this works great. If you want to cast a large amount then step up to the next model. You will need the little ladle to poor the melt into molds with this unlike a bottom poor unit but there will be no plugging of the bottom spout.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
