Nice but small
Works well,viewfinder is a little on the small side. If you need glasses to read,you will need glasses to view the screen,assuming the HD model is clearer. This one works well but Animal identity is only recognizable to 300 feet. After that you’re just picking up a heat source which I have been able to use out to 600 feet I can see that 800 to 1000 could be possible under high white or black viewing Black viewing seems to have the most detail. All the other settings work well also. Definitely worth the $400 that I spent on this one. Counstruction is typical Leupold Rocksolid, be sure to purchase the case that goes around it For protection if you drop it on a rock or something like that. I use it to find animals deep in the brush then I’m able to use my infrared scope to locate it’s a great tool if you’re using an infrared scope.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great idea needs improvement.
This monocular should be rechargeable. We have technology now to use high power batteries should not have to keep wasting batteries to use it. Now the image quality should be in the 1080p quality to better see what your looking at. But I still love it because its thermal and it helps with seeing the unseen. I would recommend it to another user as a matter of fact I did. But I warned them about the battery and I warned them about the imagery. Tracker technology great, just needs more.
After taking out a few nights for some rabbit hunting and for walks, I'm happy with the technology but not as happy about how much it offers. It's not great for spotting rabbits in brush, but good in an open field. On walks, it's always go to check out the terrain ahead before moving forward. But I realized you need to be nearsighted or use glasses to see it well at night. (remember flip-phone screens?) The picture is clear when it is "reset" for the view so it does do a job but it must always be reset for large changes in scenery. The screen is small and it does take a steady hand when zooming in on an object. I would have paid for OPTICAL ZOOM for sure. It's best to see animals or objects that are at least dog/coyote size within 200 yards. It will be hard to distinguish most small objects are after about 100 yards. Don't leave home without it!
I am truly impressed with this item! Yes it's great for walking in to your stand in the morning without ruining your hunt. Yes it's great to see what's coming much earlier & trail deer after the shot. Yes... All hunters should have one, but I believe every adult should own one! I carry this everywhere I go for self defense! It doesn't matter if you live out in the country or in the middle of town. The 1st rule of defending yourself & your family is situational awareness. I use this to know what's out there without anyone or anything else being aware of it. You can hide your outline & wear camouflage, but you can't hide your heat signature! I'm happy to have it hunting, but it's being so underutilized for preventing a self defensive act! The technology isn't new, but Leupold's light, easy to use, & impressive quality in a hand held monocular has had me thinking outside the box of how I can use this. Doesn't make you look out of place using it in urban environments plus it doesn't have you breaking a cardinal rule of Gun safety by pointing a gun at unknown targets just to utilize your thermals. The price is the same as a pistol I would carry for self defense & the LTO will better help me in being aware of potential threats much earlier! After playing with this product for a couple of weeks, I'm liking it better and better. There are just too many options and depending on which setting you pick the quality varies greatly. For use of detecting intruders around my property, it works!!!! Yes, I would buy it again and have recommended it to friends for similar use. The tracker is excellent for up to around 200 yards. The only downfall that I see in it is the size of the screen. I wear bifocals if that tells you anything. Get back to work and do it right. My Flir is less sensitive than your product but I can easily see the screen.
