When the Switchcraft 151 panel jack was being used on EV speaker cabs in the 8o's, they had a life expectancy of 7 or 8 years before the internal phenolic insulators failed and either shorted the signal to ground or just opened it. The case and lockdown nuts were good steel and alloys. The currently available versions, including these, are Mexican or offshore sourced made with lighter thinner recycled metals, weaker internals and solder lugs. I've replaced dozens being used as output jacks on electric basses and guitars. Their life expectancy is 5 years or less . They are still branded Switchcraft #151, and with their other multi-conductor TRS and internal switching versions are the only game in town. I recommend them because there is no competition. I'll let you know if they're a good value when they last as long as the early versions.
