Synopsis"Transfixing... Wayne's] prison diary is, above all, a testament to the irrepressibility of his charisma--his is a force that can never go dormant, even when it's not plainly on display." -The New Yorker From rap superstar Lil Wayne comes Gone 'Til November , a deeply personal and revealing account of his time spent incarcerated on Rikers Island for eight months in 2010. In 2010, recording artist Lil Wayne was at the height of his career. A fixture in the rap game for more than a decade, Lil Wayne (aka Weezy) had established himself as both a prolific musician and a savvy businessman, smashing long-held industry records, winning multiple Grammy Awards, and signing up-and-coming talent like Drake and Nicki Minaj to his Young Money label. All of this momentum came to a halt when he was convicted of possession of a firearm and sentenced to a yearlong stay at Rikers Island. Suddenly, the artist at the top of his game was now an inmate at the mercy of the American penal system. At long last, Gone 'Til November reveals the true story of what really happened while Wayne was behind bars, exploring everything from his daily rituals to his interactions with other inmates to how he was able to keep himself motivated and grateful. Taken directly from Wayne's own journal, this intimate, personal account of his incarceration is an utterly humane look at the man behind the artist., Gone 'Til November reveals the true story of what really happened while rap superstar Lil Wayne was behind bars, exploring everything from his daily rituals to his interactions with other inmates to how he was able to keep himself motivated and grateful. • Excuse me charisma....

All joking aside, fantastic book. Wayne's positivity, even while in prison, really made me appreciate him even more. This is a very interesting inside view of not only rap's GOAT but also a view of what a person from a good life experiences being incarcerated. Is it like what he has seen on TV? What do you do all day? How is the food? So many questions answered in detail. "Push-Ups, Prayers, ESPN, Sleep. Another one"

  • Wayne Carter RULES

I love how open and revealing this book is. Instead of bragging about all his achievements and mega- millions, this journal keeps it very simple and even goes so far to address issues Weezy had to deal with on the inside. My favorite parts were the shocking expose of learning Drake had slept with his girl while being locked up, learning how he coped on the inside with other inmates and staff, and all the foods he loved to eat. A daily glance at his words, feelings and even a lyrical poem or rap song at the end. Wonderful book
