Now I get it!
The leather edition is beautifully done as far as the outside. But the inside, with the large print, is even better!. So relaxing to read. And it feels so good to hold a traditional, leather bible as I read. The translation is so remarkable. It freshens your perspective on what is really being said. The Old Testament, for me anyway, is so challenging--I love getting to the "good part" when Jesus shows up!. Yet the old testament is what Jesus read. So this translation has before each book a summary of what God is revealing in it, all the sacrifices, rules, etc., paving the way for Jesus. So then when you read through all the "begats" and animal sacrifice/bloody parts you understand it in a more modern context of God being all in the thick of it, listening to entreaties, bringing us up in his holy way, training and teaching us etc. So positive!.
