Escort's GPS based features make it the best hands down.
The GPS and the red light, speed trap, and false signal learning features of this detector make it worth the money. The current speed and speed zone features that work with Escort live set it apart from any other detectors on the market. Not cheap, but well worth it over the other brands. Could potentially pay for itself by avoiding one ticket, not to mention points/insurance bumps if you get more than one ticket. Very disappointing.
Hate the fact that on the brightest setting I can’t see the screen at all during the daylight and it is barely bright enough at night. Yes I have run it through all the settings. I really like the directional feature it makes it easy to understands where the radar is coming from. I have had several false signals coming from the newer vehicles with blind spot detection but I here that from everyone that it is becoming more common on the K and KA bands. This radar detector so far has exceeded my expectations in every way but one. False alerts from park distance control units on many cars bumpers. This common feature is measured at approx. 24.199-24.2frequency range within the K band. These false alerts are on the highways everywhere and this radar detector picks them all up. The auto muting is helpful and a great feature but I would like for this to go away for good! I do have the option to delete K band detection but I live in North Carolina where some municipalities still use the older radar. The fact that the cars giving off the signal isn’t in the same place as far as GPS is concerned does not allow it to be automatically blocked like other static/stationary signals around town. One of the best features in my opinion. Overall the phone app is great, the settings and preferences are second to none. The range is much better than my Pro100 series Beltronics that preceded this new unit. Overall I think it’s awesome. I haven’t had any problems with ios 11 like I’ve read about and I really do believe this is the best detector that I’ve ever used. Escort MAX-360 has Saved my Bacon many times!
I have a new Challenger R/T Hemi that's "born to run". The 1st week I had it I got a warning ticket. The 2nd weekend I bought an Escort Max-360. This unit was easy to update, and the software app allows for easy setup. YouTube is your friend here on what each setting does. After installing the mirror power pigtail (order the multi-wire 40.00 kit) and hardware mount it was ready to go and has already saved me multiple times with warnings upwards of a half-mile away!!! The "Auto-mask" feature silences the false alarms that are always there, after passing them on the same route a few times. I recently receive a $100.00 ticket on a freeway because of speed enforcement use of cameras. My previous detector didn't pick up this new traffic control device so I decided to try an upgrade. I'm very satisfied with the Escort Max 360 Detector. I like that it point to the direction the radar signals originate. It's easy to use and captures the speed traps that I must concerned about (particularly cameras). I like the voice information as to excessive speed and when to slow down as a particular radar signal has been identified. A great purchase as I'm on the road and like to get from pt A to pt B in a more than timely fashion. I've been a user of the Escort/Passport family for years. Had their detectors since Cinncinati Microwave days. Have 3 Max 2s. The arrows and tracking at least to radars is very useful in deciding your speed. Lockout of false alarms and marking speed traps is good. I wish they would up date collision avoidance bandwidth more often. You get what you pay for, and this little monster is worth the price!
I Bought a new hi-performance truck, thought it best to buy a little protection to run around with. Had the little fat beast only a few weeks and has already paid for itself! Read the directions do the updates and pay attention and your chances of getting an expensive ticket are truly reduced.
