Disappointed In Performance
I had a friend that raved about the Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner he bought. I found this model that was designed for pet owners and thought it would be "the cat's meow". I learned that the different models of Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuums have different ratings from Consumer Reports and others. Learn from my mistake. On some of my carpets this does a pretty good job. On other carpets with much smaller naps this does an abysmal job. I have a rug in the living room that I have to go over four times to get this vacuum to pick up the lint, and it still leaves bits of lint and dirt behind. My twenty year old Sears vacuum did a much better job. I donated it to the church when I bought this because I thought the new Hoover would outshine it. Boy was I wrong. On the other hand; it does a decent job on my laminate and tile floors. The cleaning attachments are pretty decent too. It seems that the vacuum needs just one more height adjustment setting to perform much better. And the area that it actually cleans is much smaller than the size of the vacuum head would lead you to believe. I am very disappointed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Was easy to assemble, works as describe, only thing I did not like was how you attach the hose connection to your attachments, you have to disconnect at bottom of flex hose where it connects to vacuum and add attachments to it. But I can live with that because it has other great features. Very powerful suction moves over carpet quite easily and i like the carpet to bare floor. All And All a great vacuum. For Larger Homes
I had a Bissel 1785 crosswave that was a piece of junk and only lasted one year before it became annoying to use and eventually fell apart. This one is a better, but I can tell its for more larger homes / larger areas because of its size and power. Its not bad, but just know this. The attachments are more easy to use meaning you dont have to solve a puzzle or detach a bunch of parts to make the extensions work. Also the hand tool doesnt stop spinning as soon as you touch it to a surface like my old one did. Overall, after a few weeks of use, this one is performing well and im not just saying that to make myself feel better for buying it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

My new Hoover vac
I bought this vacuum because my old one (which was just like the new one) wore out from lots of use, but I've had it for over seven years... good suction but ......
On the pro side the vacuum has good suction, much better than my old Shark Navigator and it will pickup pine needles which my old vacuum would not do. It is heavier than my old vacuum but I can still manage it. I like that it is wider the the Shark. I also like the retractable cord. On the con side the Hoover is very difficult to empty. The interior piece of the dirt basket is bell shaped and you have to reach your fingers up inside to get the carpet fibers and dirt out which becomes very messy with dirt falling all over the garage floor as you try to hold the trash bag and pull the carpet fibers out of the basket. easy peasy set up
We have the previous Wind Tunnel and loved it but took a lot of abuse so wanted to get the new one. Everything is working fairly well but, the hose gets clogged with pet hair easily and cord rewind is not as smooth as last version.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Suction is very good and being able to shut off the sweeper roller for hard would floors is a nice feature. I gave it a 4 because the on off switch for the roller is made of plastic - - wondering about durability long term. I can't say yet if it is reliable, as I have had it for a short while. It is a workout pushing it around; I agree with a previous review stating this, but it is so worth it! I was surprised to see the great amount of dirt and pet hair I got out of an area rug in my main living area. My husband remarked how much cleaner the air felt. Vacuum works well, very poor cord rewinder
The vacuum itself works really well, however the auto rewind worked twice then the spring inside of it pushed the top out of place. So now the cord doesn't rewind anymore and there is no way to fix it. You can have it replaced for almost the same price as a new vacuum.
