Heavy Duty
This skull cake pan is really thick aluminum, reminds you of the reliable, heavy bakeware our grandmothers and mothers had, it would last for many years, often passed on to the daughters when they left home and married and started their own families, and kept passing down. It just has that heavy duty, rugged, last forever quality to it. I wish they made most bakeware like this, I'd buy as much of it as I could because I would know that I wouldn't need to buy anymore for years to come, it has real lasting quality to it, much like cast iron, And the stabilizers on the back of the pan to keep it level are just as thick as the rest of the pan, I don't think they'll bend too easily. It's just a good solid, thick, aluminum pan, I'm hoping they'll make this same aluminum in their regular cake pans and cookie sheets soon, that would be awesome. Yes, I recommend highly to bakers looking for a cake pan that will last for years and years. And the cake comes out well molded, not vague looking, it looks like the skull it's supposed to be, and I like the fact that it is still basically a two layer cake once assembled, so you don't end up with just a big swath of cake with nothing to break it up in the middle, you still get to enjoy that inner layer of icing. Also, the cake once assembled sits correctly, it doesn't look like the skull has a bull neck like others I've seen, it looks appropriate to what it is which is a skull. Well formed. So yes, if you want to make skull cakes for Halloween, or for Day of the Dead, or anytime, this is a good one. If you bakers think about it, it could actually be used to make a face if you work your icing right, you could actually give it human form and hair and so on. Anyway, yes, it's a wonderful pan, buy one now, you won't be sorry.
