Awesome Bargain!
If you have ever shopped around for one of these cat scratching post at like a Target or Walmart, or even a Petco, you'll find them to be closer to the price range of $40 to $50, so this was definitely a bargain! Cat Scratching Post....Carpet or rope...
The scratching post is exactly what I ordered. The problem is my cat's had a scratching post that was carpeted. They were used to the carpet and won't even go near the rope that this scratching post is made of. I have tried to entice them with catnip to no avail. The upside is I can buy a nice piece of carpet, wrap it around the area where the rope is, secure it and it should be usable to the cats after that is done. Would not recommend for cat's who previously were used to carpeted scratch pads. I would recommend it for the fact it is very well built. Nice and strong.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Scratching Post
Easy to assemble and once assembled has a very nice appearance. Most important though, my cat loves it. I purchased one because her one scratching post was pretty beat up but once this one arrived, I ordered three more. STURDY! LONG LASTING! CATS LOVE IT!!!
This post is STURDY! Doesn't fall over no matter how intense the scratching or from what angle the cat scratches. The carpet is very long lasting. And with FOUR cats using this post daily, the sisal is holding up pretty well. I have purchased three of them for different areas. I have 3 very active large kitties so I’ve been looking for a taller scratcher than the standard you find at the store. Unfortunately all of the taller ones are pricey! Needless to say, I was happy to find this one at such a reasonable price. My cats are rough on their scratching posts so I don’t like to spend too much on them as I will likely have to replace them. Perfect Scratching Post for Any Cat

Trixie pet products "scratching post"
we've had our Trixie post for a few months now and simply put... this cat scratching post WORKS! 1st off, the cost is quite comparable to any at the discount places. it does the job with our 4 yr old inside cat by drawing her away from the furniture. since seeing is believing, it's obvious to me that this post is sturdy, well-built and will last a long time. Buyer beware,,, buy only a brand you know and trust. our last one looked very similar to this; but in 2 months the rope came off, it fell apart, and we had to throw it out. so, if/when we have a need for a pet product, rest assured we will look to Trixie first; especially 4 another scratching post !!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

My furbaby's absolute favorite!
I won one of these a couple of years ago and my cat loved it to pieces, literally! She prefers the sisal to carpeted poles and this held up for a long time. The wide base keeps it from easily toppling over and the taller height suits her better. Piece of cake to build scratch post for cats.
Wow , What a deal ! It took me two minutes to connect the post to the base snug. And both of my cat jumped on it together and went crazy with happiness. They both smell the Rope like it was cat nip. Then both wanted to be first so they went together. One on each side of the post. Funny to watch until they got tired after twenty minutes. Now both keep hitting it for a few scratches everytime they pass it. Funny ! Buy it ! Nicely made for the money. Lots of nice rope for the money. :-)
