Good product, serves the purpose
This magazine extension works as expected and fits well on my Remington 870 Express. I gave 4 stars because the finish is a little different from the Carlson barrel but it serves the purpose. The clamp and sling attachment are adequate but not great. The spring seems very long for 2 added shells compared to the original. Incompatibility Due to Lack of Research by Carlson
The reason I gave two stars was because the Carlson's folks look like they make the same looking tubes, with the same amount of threads, for example I bought the extension tube for a Remington 870, because apparently my EAA Girsan mc312 has Remington adaptability as a nut adapter came with my shotgun. Attaching the Carlson's Remington 870 extension tube leaves a gap between both the factory tube and the extension tube which causes the spring to get stuck and doesn't push the next round into the chamber. If you attach the extension tube without the adapter nut, there's not enough threading to hold the magazine tube and the receiver in place. I also purchased the Carlson's Benelli Nova extension tube my shotgun is referred to as a Benelli clone. But looking at the tube and threading, it looks exactly the same as Carlson's Remington 870 extension tube. So I'm not sure if the Carlson folks are making these parts to specifically fit the magazine tubes of all shotgun manufacturers. There should not be a gap between the extension tube and the factory magazine tube when attaching them together; the spring gets stuck. It may not be Carlson's fault as the instructions/ manual from the Girsan manufacturer states that the threading is the same/modeled after the Remington 870 which is why I thought the Carlson's Remington 870 extension tube would fit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Functional - slightly overpriced
It is a quality part and an ok value. There are cheaper products that do the same thing but they're hard to find. If you get tired of waiting for a better value magazine extension, (Wilson Combat, Scattergun Technologies) to become available and just need to get one this one will work and it's not the most overpriced magazine extension out there.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works great on my 870
I wanted to make a hunting Remington wingmaster 870 with low capacity into a self defense home shotgun. I normally buy the the Remington magazine extenders to match the deep blue of the wingmasters but I have found these Carlson magazine extensions match pretty close. Easy to assemble and works well in cycling rounds.
Received on time and packaged well, no damage or missing parts. I was modifying an older 870 Remington long barrel into a home defense 12 gauge. Everything fit together perfectly.
