Good As New with no Servce Call
Just like so many others, my Maytag control panel quit on me last year. Dishwasher was only 3 years old at the time. I researched the internet and found out how to clean the cable inside the panel and everything worked fine...for almost a year. I failed to follow the last step in the instructions which was to put some sealant on the panel to keep steam out so within a year, the problem was back and worse than the first time. I attempted to clean it but my patience ran short and I "overscrubbed", ruining the wires underneath. I know there is another YouTube on how to repair that but I wasn't going to attempt it because I'm scared of fire. Opted to just purchase a new panel which is still better than paying a repairman or buying a new dishwasher. Panel arrived and I plugged it in. My dishwasher had crashed mid cycle so it did take it about 5 minutes to figure out where it was before it started working but now we are back in business. Saved at least $200 by not calling a repairman. (I am a 62 year old woman) On a side note, Maytag (Whirlpool) still gets to us on these things. If I could have just purchased the wiring harness, I could have reused my plastic panel but instead, I threw away a perfectly good panel piece.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Dishwasher works just like brand-new
The control panel fit exactly as intended and was easy to hook up and run. Now, the DW is back to normal easy operation. I hope the tape wiring harness does not burn out like the original equipment did. Replacing the control panel added more service years to the 10 year old unit. Fixed my problem
Used on Maytag MDB7749SAM1 dishwasher, and it fixed the problem described below. Problem: The circuit board is pinched between two parts, and is slowly cut through until it burns the traces, leaving black burn lines on the circuit board. Steam vapor shorts out the data ribbon cable that attaches to control panel.
