Perfect marriage of a Martin D35 and EJ16 strings.
These are the only strings I use on my D35 with a fishman pickup. Crisp clear clean and convincing sound. Have tried most likely a couple of dozen different strings over the past years and I'm convinced these are the best for the sound I'm looking for with the guitar and acoustic amp. Rich bass notes with ringing high notes Strum that last chord and let these strings ring out. Do a little mid range riff and it comes out sharp and crisp without overdubbing from resonance. Lightweight and very full sound
My guitar now has a more fuller sound, then it did before. and, I really enjoy that. I mean the strings come in very organized, colored coded for the strings. Which can be very helpful for beginners. If you are a beginner, then i highly suggest you get these strings, but thicker. EJ16 on Martin J40
When i bought my Martin J40 it had these strings on it. I had never used a larger model instrument with a lightweight string before. I was looking for a guitar with good tone and sound projection. These strings have given sound projection with this instrument. I would not recommend these as a sure thing with all guitars, because all guitars are not the same. Playability - incredible Sound crisp beautiful
These D"Addario EJ-15 extra lights on my Martin D-18 were exactly what I wanted. In fact, I wish I bought these 30 years ago. The guitar was made in 1952 and has a rich tone to it. The T'Addario's help bring out this tone with it's Phosphor bronze crisp sound. It's playability is simply amazing. Good strings for a reasonable price.
Just now used the first of the strings I purchased, as I always keep a supply of these around. I have always had good luck with them and rarely have any strings break provided I get several winds around the tuning machines. I always loop the strings around the tuner prior to inserting the string through the hole in in the tuner. I also regularly use a string lubricant which I believe not only easier on your fingers but extends the life of the strings. D'Addario phosphor bronze are the best!
I've been playing D'Addario phosphor bronze strings since the mid 1970's. I've tried the other brands, but always came back to D'Adarrio. With most strings you get either warm lows or bright highs.
