  • Great knife to trust for survival / EDC

I bought this knife as an alternative to my larger and heavier "survival" knife that is a bit much every day carry in my city-boy lifestyle. That knife is a beast, and definitely the one I would hope to have if I have to survive in the woods or off-grid. But, it's a bit of a monster to carry, and is high-carbon steel that could rust out if not cared for. I wanted something a bit smaller, lighter, and maintenance free to have with me every day, hoping that the Garberg would be enough to trust. I was not disappointed! This knife is beautiful, holds a wicked edge, is tough enough for all but the most abusing uses I can think of, and is the perfect balance of practicality. The handle has the most comfortable grip of any knife I've tried. I like that it can be held reverse-grip just as well as normally. The only bit I don't care for particularly is the protruding tang at the end. No-one needs that for striking sparks as the spine of the blade is fine for that. Sure you could pound on it, but you could also if it was flush or almost flush with the heel of the handle. If you need to push on the knife with your hand, or use it like a drill, it will rip up your palm without a glove. If I have access to a grinder some day I might well grind it off. That said, I wouldn't take a star off for it as it's just a personal opinion. As for the multi-mount sheath ... I'm on the fence. The option for belt carry or a multitude of other ways to carry, including Molle is great. But it's disappointing that in order to belt-carry you have to give up the button-over cover. The knife does gently click into the sheath, but I'd hardly trust that to secure the knife for anything but walking around. It's not enough to take off a full star, but makes me think maybe I should have gone for the leather sheath option instead. All in all, though, this is a fabulous knife, and exactly what I want and need to have with me in my backpack every day. I enjoy even just holding it and admiring the blade. It feels very, very natural and good in my hand. It processes firewood into smaller bits, kindling, and shavings for fire starting just like I need it to. And best of all I don't need to worry about protecting the blade a much as I would need to with a high-carbon blade. I'm very, very satisfied!

  • Mora Garberg multi-mount - value for the money

Don't confuse this knife with a Fallkniven F1, but for the price it lives up to expectations. The finish isn't 100%. But at least it is 98%. I'm a little disappointed about the sheath. If you use the belt attachment, there is no secondary safety from keeping the knife in place. It does seem to snap into the sheath OK, but I prefer having a safety strap. The blade wasn't super sharp, but a minimum amount of work with a fine stone brought it to razer sharpness. I also added some ranger bands on the sheath to hold a firesteel, and added some paracord through the hole in the handle. All in all, very satisfied.

  • I like it!

So, far this knife has been awesome. I haven't had much time to put it through much testing yet but it has served it's current intended purpose with flying colors. It feels great in my hand and has a bit of heft to it to make feel even better. I have a number of Mora knives and find them to be very good and very useful I will actually be buying another as a backup and one for my brother whom I know will also appreciate it and put it to good use. So, I would highly recommend it for anyone interested in knives. I am not all that impressed with the sheath however it does serve the purpose but I think I will be having one made for it or try to make one myself. Hopefully!

  • Top of the Line Mora

I own several Morwa knives, all priced at the low end of the product line. They are all razor sharp and very utilitarian in their use. I finally decided to buy Morwa's best knife (and most expensive) simply because of the full tang and heavy duty capability of the blade. I was not disappointed. If I only had one Morwa knife, it would be this Garberg. It can do it all from field dressing a deer, to cleaning fish, to a full range of bush craft activities including batoning.

  • Mora Garberg

Arrived quickly and as advertised. The knife itself is probably the most common sense, well made knife I have ever owned. The sheath leaves something to be desired. After market sheaths can be purchased on EBay. I bought one for every member of the family that would have a use for this type knife, including the grandkids.

  • Garberg

Its not garbage. Its a great fixed blade, maybe a bit overpriced for what jt really is, but its also well made so its worth throwing the extra pesos to some branding.
