Good tire for neighborhood rides
I got this tire to replace the knobbies on the wife's mountain bike. Since she doesn't ride off the road very much, she wanted a better tire for the street. This works well. It's much quieter than her knobbies, wears more uniformly, and is easier to pedal. I especially like that it is straight. I ride with her, and I see her tire roll true with the grooves not wavering as the tire rolls along. Meanwhile, my knobbies waver and jerk around, even though I've tried to realign them on the rim several times. They're just not as well made as the Schwalbe. We got the 2.35 wide, and the dimensions are right on. I run it near the minimum pressure, about 25 psi, and it works great. Very smooth. We just ride around the neighborhood, so you might want a smaller section tire and higher pressure if you wanted to go some distance on the road. I think the Schwalbe is a quality tire, and am very happy with it. Have them on both front and back, and only maybe 100-200 miles on them so far. They're a pavement tire, but she has ridden clay and sand roads and they do OK on the flat parts. Don't try to climb any loose hills.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
