These were purchased for use in retrofitting 'Torchire' style 300w halogen uplights with integral driver (110-240vac) 30w LED modules.
Because these are used for bedroom lighting, fanless operation was the goal, but they run a little too hot for the 30w integral power supply modules. I expect they would be fine with a smaller module or one with a divorced power supply. A small fan would also keep the temperature at acceptable levels.
As they didn't work out for the 'Torchiere' retrofit, I will add a fan and use them in portable worklighting. The 30w cool white LED modules compare favorably to the 300w halogen bulbs in light output with no fire hazard and much lower operating cost.
If used for this application you will need to drill and tap for M3 or 6-32 screws 4 places.
These appear to be good quality dual copper heatpipe CPU takeouts and have motherboard mounting brackets (2) attached which can be easily removed with a screwdriver.
