A must have for gun owners.......

I have a bore sight for every caliber gun I own. If you use a detachable sight be it red dot or scope, it's nice to be able to do a quick check before heading out. It's so small, you'd almost want to carry it while hunting, case you and your rifle took a bad fall, you could do a check out there in the shade of some trees. For me, they get me so close, I haven't had to make any further adjustment out in the field. There also nice for kids or new shooters, so they can see what there aiming at and where the bullets are going to land. It shows them, even how to line up hard or iron sights, even helps new shooters with holding a pistol, there grip, stance and lining those sights up seeing where that bullets going to land. I can't say enough about these bore sights, again a must have.

Somehow accurate and easy to use.

Update: by rotating this catridge you learn it is not concentric. The red laser dot follows the rotation about an inch off center at 15 yards. I am getting better results with plain bore sighting at 100 yards. Helps in zeroing your scope or sighting system before spending rounds at the range. It doesn't mean you won't need to fine tune with some more, but it does get you there much faster than zeroing without it. To ensure it seats well in the chamber I push it with a wooden stick like a skewer or a chopstick. It is powerful enough to help you sight at distances of 25 yards.

  • Works as expected

Works well, and is true (concentric with barrel) as possible. I rolled it on a table while turned on to see how centered the laser was, and couldn't detect any misalignment. So if your chamber is concentric with the barrel, this will get you on paper as well as can be expected. I doubt this is bright enough for outdoors during daytime beyond 25 feet, but the cartridge type lasers are all that way. I sighted mine at night, when you can get a good view of the dot out to 100 yards. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is the price. I've bought these cartridge lasers for other calibers such as 223 for $5 and they were just as good quality as this one, which is $25.

  • Favorite Laser Bore Sight Brand

I had a difficult time finding the Sightmark for the 300 AAC I’m stock anywhere. Was excited to find it through Optics Planet on eBay. These are my favorite bore sights that always get me close prior to heading to the range for final sighting. Much more cost effective than more expensive brands for the amount of time I actually need them. Would recommend Sightmark brand for sure!

  • Laser Bore Sight

Bought the 300 Blackout laser bore sight and I'm very pleased with it. I set up the bore sight per instructions and put the crosshairs of the scope on the red dot at 25 yards. When I sighted my rifle in, the bullet hit just 3" high of the Bullseye of the target at 100 yards. This bore sight saved me a lot of time and ammo...

  • Very easy and straight-forward to use.

I did a 300 blk pistol build, and used this unit to sight the illuminated optic. Unfortunately when I took it to the range, I had accidentally left the unit turned on and the battery was dead, so I couldn't check the sight on a paper target. I also didn't take an extra battery along...won't let that happen again. Anyway, I put a fresh battery in it and am waiting for another day to take it to the range. Good little laser sight alignment tool. Thumbs up.

  • Saving ammo and there for money.

This is good tool for first using to sight in a rifle at 25 yards. Having to fiddle with the small batteries, with cold hands is a pain.

  • If you must,,,, maybe

It worked as intended but,,, It drained the batteries both times I used it. 5-7 minutes on time. Odd sized batteries - expensive. The second time I used it the feed on my AR bent the very thin housing rendering it unusable and stuck in the chamber - its a delicate piece of engineering and I was not overly delicate with it but I really expected it to handle normal use a bit longer.

  • Liking these Sightmark Sights

I have Sightmark bore sights in 5.56 and 300 BLK and have no issues with them except batteries don't last very long. Easiest to use at dawn or dusk if you're going for 100m. Makes rough sighting your scope a breeze.
