Great levers, modern but fit my retro-esque build
First, the photo makes them look different due to the angle. They are indeed the same shape. I was unsure how these might look on my classic-ish Surly build, and they seemed a little bit ugly, but I think they fantastic now and work very well with my build--albeit not totally classic. The finish on the silver is a nice high-polish alloy look. The outward flare to the lever makes the grip feel really nice and natural, and the action of these levers feels extremely smooth and solid. The cable release button works just as well and is a nice option. They came in some fancy box, which I thought was over the top, but definitely a sign that these are indeed some nice levers. My only rub is not really a fault of the levers, but the hex bolt for mounting is recessed enough that you'd really better use a long hex key to mount them. I got a some scuff marks from using a muti-tool hex set. Would definitely recommend these.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Brake Levers
When I first saw the drilled Tektro RRL brake levers, I thought they were an unattractive, ungainly and unholy combination of old and new style. I had a need for a more "modern" look- and these fit the bill. I've had the levers on for about a month and a half- what I saw as ungainly, I now see as fresh and kind of unique. The hoods are comfortable to hold on to, and the splayed out levers make it easier to reach them. The quick release is fantastic (I can get rid of the q/r cable hangers). I find that braking is easier because I can reach the levers easier. Once you get over the looks- you'll see and feel these are full-on class. Keep in mind they do change the look of an old bike. I would fully recommend these levers for any new bike or to "resto-mod" an older bike.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
