    just needed a coffee grinder

This is my second cuisanart grinder. The first lasted about three years. I grind coffee every day so that is over a thousand uses. I like doing it that way because every day I know I am putting the same amount in the coffee pot also a cuiinart. It does a great job and pays for itself in a short time. Hugh difference between fresh ground coffee and the cans you buy in the supermarket. When I wear this one out I will buy another love their products.

A good burr grinder is more expensive for a reason

Before buying this grinder, make sure it is for you. Burr grinders are expensive for a reason, and the budget price on this one is telling. If you are a person who makes drip coffee every day and you are looking for an easy way to have fresh ground beans for your daily pot, this is a great solution. This grinds more evenly than a blade grinder, and you can even set it for the number of coffee cups you brew, so it's a relatively hands-off process. However, if you prefer brewing methods that require a consistent grind size, such as pourover, this probably isn't the best choice. While the grind size is more even than that produced by a blade grinder, it's not on par with that produced by a higher quality burr grinder. Additionally, it's designed to hold a full hopper of beans. If you typically measure your beans and then grind, you'll find that it has trouble getting through those last few beans as they bounce around the chamber rather than getting ground. Like most people, I was looking for a bargain when I bought this grinder. While it works fine for certain purposes, it doesn't do exactly what I hoped it would.

  • Right Size & Power

This grinder works well because it has the right size and power to do the job with ease. The finest grind setting is the right size to work well for most espresso machines, which is my use. However, it has so much grind rang that you will not be wanting- I assure you. All grinders are "noisy" and this one maintains that tradition.

  • Terrific Coffee Grinder

Like New. In fact, if the warranty hadn't stated that it was refurbished, I would have believed it to be new. It worked perfectly out of the box. It was very well packaged. The included instructions regarding settings for my type of grind were clear and simple to understand. It's easy to adjust, too. It had a 1 cup scoop with small cleaning brush on the end included. I highly recommend this coffee grinder and I am picky about my appliances.

  • Electric 2* - hand crank 5*.

It's as good as any electric burr grinder and maybe better than most. They all seem to suffer from lots of fine dust in the finished grind and static cling in the plastic cup.I sift the dust through a fine strainer and save it to season my sauces and such so all is not lost. The whole process seems to be so loud and frantic! I collect old wooden hand crank grinders and nothing modern is even close to the slow hand grind and drop through into a wooden drawer of those machines. They also look so much better and use up much less counter space. Bottom line is in this case, the grinder is great at what it does, but nothing electric that I've tried comes even close to to the quality of grind and experience of an antique hand grinder. They are not difficult to find and all of mine cost about the same as an electric. Do yourself a favor and consider an old hand crank grinder.

  • It works, but has two annoying flaws.

This grinder works, but it has two annoying flaws: 1) it's extremely noisy. If you happen to use it in the morning, you will wake up everyone in the house. 2) the container for ground coffee develops a lot of static electricity, causing the charged coffee grounds to fly out of the container and all over your counter. At first it was amusing to watch the little coffee grounds fly out of the container, but it soon got very annoying to have to clean up after EVERY TIME I use it.

  • Very sturdy coffee grinder. Nice looking too.

I decided to use this grinder just for coffee. It's perfect. The grocer sells my favorite beans, but their grinder always tastes like other brands. Now I can have my San Francisco blend.

  • Just do it

I had to go through three grinders to find this… I originally had one of these a few years ago and loved it but that I could do just as well for a little bit cheaper. Wrong! It’s design, efficiency and easy cleanup make it one of the best grinders on the market. Ended up costing me a lot more money with wasted time and returning grinders back to the manufactures before I finally just realized… This is the best one!
