I can’t accurately rate this product as mine was taken off a “new” bike probably because it was defective. In the past I’ve used alivio because it’s usually a reliable inexpensive part. The one I bought is in the scrap metal pile
I switched my gear set from a 7 to 8 speed, and needed a new derailleur to accommodate. The Alivio has 11 tooth wheels, (over the standard 13-tooth) which makes for quicker shifting. Even though made for 9 speed cassettes, this worked great for my 8-speed freewheel.
Shifting is quick and precise, and the setup was typical derailleur adjustments. After the initial setup, no further adjustments have been needed.
A definite upgrade over the piece I was replacing, (Shimano Tourney) and much stronger. I would recommend it.
