HUGE DIFFERENCE FROM THE FACTORE PARTS
No more jerky trigger. Reduces a 6 pound plus trigger pull to a little over 2 pounds. Trigger pull is smooth and precise. I also installed the Volquartsen target trigger and with the pair makes the RUGER 10/22 a tack driver at the range at 50 and 100 yards with a 3 - 9 power scope I can get a quarter size group with good ammo. Hammer kit
I installed this hammer kit but I don't like the results. when I fire the Ruger 10/22 now it fires, ejects and loads the next round but does not reset the firing pin. every time you cock it, you get one shot, have to eject the next round and then fire one round... not good!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Volquartsen Ruger 10/22 target hammer kit
Everyone knows the stock 10/22 trigger pull, travel is horrible for such a nice little rifle. This kit cut the pull weight in half. I can only go on feel because I don't have a pull gauge but it breaks about as nice as my much more expensive triggers. There is still a little creep and a small amount of over travel but those things are all correctable. At the end of the day this is the cheapest and easiest kit to make your 10/22 even more fantastic. Couple this trigger with a x22 stock, bull barrel, and a nice optic and you've got a tack driver.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Big improvement
This hammer dramatically lightens the trigger pull. I wouldn't say it makes it a target trigger, but it's good enough for 90% of the shooters. To make it a true target trigger, you would need a new trigger to limit travel after the hammer drops. Great results for little cost
The kit contains everything needed to replace the hammer , strut and return spring along with spacer washers that make the kit useable for various types of 10/22s. Although the VQ youtube videos werent specific for my new 10/22 carbine they provided enough info for me to install the parts without much difficulty. I have put 250 rounds through it and am very impressed with the reduced trigger pull. Less than half of the stock 6 lbs and it helps tremendously with improved accuracy. Beats the price of all new trigger group !
With a little work this kit does the same job as some high priced trigger groups. My around 2.5 # trigger pull makes a big difference at the range. My accuracy has greatly improved. It's magical
It is hard to believe so few parts for so little money and so little work transform that trigger so much. I can't confirm the 2.5# pull, but there is little to no travel and a crisp, light trigger. I can't wait to shoot it side by side with my 10/22 with the stock trigger. If you read reviews of this hammer online you will be strongly advised to not used the included springs but rather just retain the stock springs. Should've came from the factory like this
I understand that lawyers tie the hands of gun companies. i love this kit especially for the price. I know volquartsen makes quality products i just can't justify buying a complete trigger assembly from them. This kit improves the factory trigger very well. It's not as good as the volquartsen trigger assembly but a huge improvement over a stock ruger trigger. This kit does the job of reducing the factory 6-8 lb. trigger pull to approx. 2.5-3 lb. KIT IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTION: The kit would be rated EXCELLENT if small washer shims were included to secure the side to side trigger movement. Since you have everything apart, why not?
