In late 2014 I purchased 8 Trojans Deep Cycle batteries 435Ah, the largest available. They sat for less than a year in storage before I could get my solar panels and system installed. By that time the batteries had stratified moderately but no dead cells thankfully. I put the Battery Life Saver on the 48v system, and it has been running now for about 4 weeks. The batteries are now almost normal and hold a charge. My hydrometer shows the cells are all good, with 4 balls floating. I believe with a little more time the batteries will be back to full charge. Together they hold 50.3v in a cold 43 degree room over a 2 day period without more charging. I used one of these before in a previous home and it worked well there also. I highly recommend the Battery Life Saver.
Living here in The Bahamas can drastically increase the cost of purchasing new batteries after shipping and duty. I have a 48v battery bank that consist of eight 6v golf cart batteries that are over 5 years old and were sitting in storage unused for over 8 months. Before I connected the BLS my bank voltage would rest at 48.4v after a full charge. Three weeks after connecting the BLS, they are now maintaining a charge of 50.6v. The product works.
