Perfect fit, genuine part - terrible design
It fit perfectly and worked fine but ... the design is terrible. one half of the gear train is plastic teeth molded into the rear wheels. The transmission is flimsy, and the plastic gear idea is just unforgivable. If you bought this mower, you're gonna need this part. Maybe twice. Perfect replacement part
This was a perfect replacement part for my Toro 22" Recycler. I purchased this transmission along with a new set of upgraded wheels (metal geared), rear wheel bearings, and various other parts to do a rebuild on my eleven year old aging mower. I was able to breath new life into it and now instead of having to help push it along, it's now pulling me along lol. The difference in power I'm getting from this new transmission as opposed to my old oem one is night & day. Very pleased with the quality of this part and the price point. No self propelled

Transmission Replacement
My mower was still in relatively good shape at 10-years old. Quick start and ran well, but the self-propelled function was erratic and noisy. Rather than tearing into the transmission to see what was going on I opted to replace it along with a new drive belt. Now the mowers works as good as new. So for $80 (cost of a transmission and a new drive belt), and an hour or so one morning, I avoided the cost of a new mower (~$500).
