Great product, almost impossible to install !!

Draw Tite is a great hitch, I've used several, however on the Ford Edge the installation is not nearly as easy as they claim! First, mine happens to be a '13 and it's possible that earlier models have the "slot" Draw Tite claims is there to slide the bolts through. If it does exist it's impossible to access without removing the back bumper cover (a significant project). They supply you with wires that have coils on the ends and thread onto the bolts. You then are supposed to fish the wires through the end of the frame rail pulling the bolts through. Sounds simple but the opening either isn't there or is impossible to access. I gave up and cut a 1.5" square hole in the bottom of each frame rail using a die grinder and cut off wheel. With that I could fish the bolts through and complete the installation. This is NOT an easy installation and I'd strongly recommend having it done by a shop unless you are equipped to do it as I did. Their 55 minutes of average time is WAY off base. I'd recommend reading the instructions several times to fully understand the process then see if you can find the slots in the frame rail ends. Then take it to U-Haul and have it installed !!

Nice product good fit . Did have few scratches on it on arrival but it’s a hitch who cares .

Easy install if you are mechanically adept. There is no need to lower exhaust which it says to do as you can manipulate hitch into place with proper movements. And support with jacks once in place .

  • Draw tite Hitch install on my 2014 Edge.

Instructions are a little vague on bolt hole placement. But once figured out, I moved right along. The wire bolt pull through's made it easy to pull them through. Unwind off the bolt to get them off after pulling brace and bolt through the hole together. (Do not do this till trailer hitch is up and supported with wires and bolts going through the hitch and ready for the washers and nuts! ) The most difficult part was drill holes on the last two bolts that are in bumper braces. But with the right tools overall simple job for a light mechanic. T.

  • Lincoln MKX hitch

The hitch came in one piece with all of the attachment hardware, which was nice. If you are, at all, able to use your hands and tools, the installation is relatively easy. There are a few videos of the complete installation process on-line that offer great insight and are highly recommended. You will, definitely, need a second person to help lift and hold the hitch in place for the final attachment to the vehicle's frame - two hands just aren't enough for this step. My son and I installed this hitch at home with basic tools in under one hour. Overall, what seems to be a great product and straight-forward installation instructions.

  • Great hitch for the price !!

Got this hitch for my wife’s 2012 Edge. I installed it in about 1.5 hours by myself. I used ramps on her Edge and a motorcycle jack to raise the hitch into place getting it close enough to lift one side at a time to get the nuts started onto the carriage bolts. Another helping hand would’ve cut the time down, but I managed just fine. Threaded fishing wires worked well to feed the carriage bolts and plates into the existing frame holes through the small cutouts at the rear of the frame rails. Had to drill two required holes for the back section of the hitch but that was surprisingly easy as well. Just follow the included instructions and you won’t have any issues. I’d recommend this product.

  • Nice hitch

Good fit, good quality hitch, used it on my car to mount a bike rack and works well for that. Watch a YouTube video on installation the instructions aren’t very good. Install took a little over an hour and was a two person job when it came to bolting the hitch up

  • Great product!

Hitch was easy to install but add another hour of installation time! Fits perfectly and is mostly hidden.
