I replace an older 1/2 HP Genie Chain Drive with this Chamberlain B970 Belt Drive 1 1/4 HP. I was looking for powerful, silky smooth and whisper quiet. This opener achieved all 3. Install was a breeze and programming was simple. The control to set both the height and drop of the door was simple. It has a battery backup to be able to operate during a power outage. You can also download a free Chamberlain App to your smartphone and have complete door control with you 24/7/365. At the end of the day, this is a great choice for quality and 100% user friendliness. Chamberalin B970 Garage Door opener.. So Quiet you can't even hear it opening from inside the house!!
Chamberlain B970 garage door opener works perfectly.. Very quiet during operation and love the belt drive over the chains.. Must have good WiFi for the app to work and my wife feels the battery back up gives peace of mind knowing she can get out of the garage if electricity goes out. Really only downfall is that the opener is not able to work with Homelink transmitters unless you get the repeater adapter. Not really a big deal but something to keep in mind when comparing. I bought my Homelink repeater here on eBay for $20. Also DO NOT use LED light bulbs in opener... Causes communcation issues....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
