The perfect charger
This smart charger covers all the bases.... can charge a dead battery, support trickle charging, then revert to supplying current at up to 7 amps if the load increases. We use this to supply a low-voltage LED lighting system, where the batteries charge during the day, then supply the LED lamps at night. If the battery starts to drain too far, this unit takes over. Seems to work but over priced
It seems to charge like it's supposed to. The charging clamps are small and lightweight looking but work. When you untie the AC cord and try to straighten it out, it's almost impossible to straighten out the bends in the AC cord. Either the wire it's self is stiff or the black plastic insulation covering the wire is hard plastic. Whatever the case I hate it. It definitely needs a better quality AC cord. And the unit it's self feels real light weight like there's not much inside. CTEK may be a Swedish company but the unit says made in China on it. I just get the impression it's probably made with really cheap components but sold at a high price because of all the advertising hype. So good I bought another one!
I have a car I only drive every other month or so and wanted a charger to stay attached and maintain but not overcharge the battery. I researched chargers and chose the CTek 56-353 7002, added the optional rubber bumper and have been using it for the last three years. It's worked so well I just bought another one which triggered this review. Long lasting with lots of power!
Over the years we have collected about 10 of these items. We used the old battery tenders for years but they didn't last and when we went to start an old car, no battery life. Charged my odyssey race battery!
I had a sears 12v charger before. I tried to charge my optima yellow top an odyssey race battery in my bug.. yet i was totally wasting my time. Purchased this battery charger for half the price an its jus plug n play! It fully charged both batteries in about 3hrs. Ea. This charger might be small yet the technology is awesome! Saves the day
If you have AGM batteries for your RV TINY HOME or Camper this is the charger! It revived a lifeline battery that dropped to 10.5v of discharge and was down for months...winter months. The lifeline was A battery that that cheap ass Chinese battery from the Goal Zero Yeti 1250 abused (they were chained in parallel ). Meaning, that sht goal zero battery failed and drained and kept taxing the lifeline.
