Great for tough jobs or self cuts
Im a professional barber. I bought these guards because I cut my own hair and the number 8 guard was just a little too short for me to comb my hair to the side.. I haven't used them on the top of my head yet but I did use them on a client the other day he had very thick straight hair and he wanted a shag style haircut. I was able to use these over signs guards to create a nice layered cut on the side without having to section and wet his extremely thick hair. For $10 these are worth having in your tool rack. A little bit of padding around the guides will prevent any damage. Mine arrived loose with no padding at all in medium size box. Lucky neither had broken. But great clipper guides.
