You can't go wrong with these binoculars! Especially compared to others in their price range.
These Leupold's are supposedly the same or equal to their BX-2. I do not know if that's true. This is my first time owning Leupold glass. I have heard nothing but good about Leupold's.
My first impressions are that it is a great pair of binoculars. They are lightweight, easy to hold with one hand, have a good grip to them, have all of the fancy features - waterproof, fogproof, shockproof, the "Twilight Max Rated" for seeing in the dark, Exo barrier protection, etc, etc.
All I know is they feel great, are easy to use, have great glass and viewing properties, even in the dark. Definitely worth the $179 price at Costco (which is who they are made for) because not only do they come with the great bino's, they have a neck strap, carrying case and lens cleaner.
I've compared them to my Vortex's (Fury and Crossfire HD's) with which I believe they are better, although the Fury's may have been equal in light gathering and brightness. I have also compared them to my Bushnell Nitro's and I can't lie, the Bushnell's beat them.
But the Nitro's are $350 glass and it is so almost unnoticeable, I wouldn't hesitate in a moment to have these binos alone and feel I had a good deal.
If you're on a budget, or, just don't want to spend an arm and a leg for glass, these will suit you well. I've easily identified wolves and bears at around 2000 yards in Yellowstone. The moon looks sharp and they even make the planets look bigger at night.
