RYOBI BOOM BOX
Unit plays well. I bought Ryobi because I already have 2 of their battery products (drills), so I could use existing batteries. The only shortcomings I feel are: cannot charge battery with unit. Reception is not very good in rural areas, probably due to weak antenna. Also feel sound is not crisp, very mushy. Good, but for the price, should be better
It's a great looking, compact and durable bluetooth device, that's good for the workplace, around the house or even on the beach. It's easy to set up and use and has the great feature of powering it by plugging it in with an extension cord or use Ryobi's customary 18V lithium batteries. The only downside, and it's a fairly significant one, is the sound quality. Yes, there are bass and treble adjustments, however you can't really tweak the unit to sound good. Bass seems to be okay, but treble is lacking, even when maxing out the equalizer. It sounds okay, and it is fully usable, just don't expect it to sound like a better (and even smaller) bluetooth speaker. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great Radio
I had a name brand radio that we used out in the yard and camping that was forever wandering around the station the we selected. Finally I couldn't take it any more. I found this unit and took a chance. Great choice . It sounds good, never wanders off station and will play for several days with normal use on a single charge. My first time use my phones blue tooth to play music through the radio and it sounds great. Plenty of presets and the scan feature works very good. Nice Addition to the 18V Tools
Super convenient if you already have an 18V tool set, and it seems mildly "rugged". But is it better the the smaller $40 Ryobi radio? Meh... don't expect to be impressed by the sound quality, it's basically 2 of the smaller radios stuck together in a plastic box.
