Bulova Self Winding 96A242
I have been wearing Bulova watches ever since my grandparents gave me one in 1962 as a combination high school/going away present (I was heading into the Navy), I was looking at watches on eBay, and came across this one. I read the reviews, and then googled it to search for more reviews, which led me to YouTube reviews, and they were all (mostly) positive. A few people mentioned that the strap was a bit long, and I agree, and I have rather large wrist. Other than that, I have NO complaints whatsoever. It doesn't have a calendar which I don't ,miss. I have never used a winder for self winding watches, so, before I go to bed, I wind the stem (crown) about 20 to 20 times, and in the morning, the time is perfect. Really nice looking watch. Low profile, understated. Exactly the right shade of blue on the face. BUT: I did not realize that "self-winding" means you have to wear it regularly or it stops keeping the time. This is my work watch and I wear it about every other day, but that's not enough movement to keep it wound, so I have to re-set the time every time I wear it. Impressive style for the price
I have to say that it is a pretty stylish watch for under $110. Although the strap was way too big for my wrist, that didn't bother me, because changing out straps is sometimes the first thing I do with a new watch. I found one that fits, and looks good. Best looking watch for the money
This watch looks better in real life than in the photos. I was after this watch for a long time and unfortunately I could not buy it locally in the UK and was resorted to buy it from abroad. I was worried that it wouldn't arrive and get lost in transit but I needn't worry as it arrived safely. The only thing I would say is that I wish they packaged better with a bit more bubble wrap. The watch is most elegant I have in my collection for the money, I would say that it even better in looks than some of most expensive brands.
