Never ending laughs.
They just don't make sitcoms the way they used to. Green Acres isn't War and Peace but you will be entertained with constant laughs from Eddie Albert (Oliver) as a lawyer turned gentleman farmer who plows the fields dressed in a three piece suit, his wife, Lisa (Eva Gabor) always dressed in fancy boa trimmed gowns and slippers who isn't happy living on a farm. She can't perform regular domestic chores and the only meal she "thinks" she can cook is "hots cakes". There is an ocean of other zany characters, one of my favorites is Arnold the pig. Yes a pig. This sitcom is filled with some of the great character actors of that era. If you like laughing at zany plots then this sitcom won't disappoint.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good old fashion rural fun and silliness
I absolutely love to watch the episodes in the order that they were released. The show grows as the years passed but many things stayed the same such as Drucker's store and the Cannonball train. For me this show is timeless. Sure it can get silly as times but that's all part of the fun. My all-time favorite show! Sick of the New York City complications, successful, attorney, Oliver Wendell Douglas buys a run down farm and moves him and his New York City loving Wife to "Hooterville" much to her chagrin. Besides her not being able to cook anything but "failed" hotcakes and barely able to speak and understand English, the entire 6 season collection creates thousands of laughs in its less then 25-minute episodes. All the characters are amazing and funny but neighbor Fred and Doris Ziffel's television-loving pet pig, Arnold who they treat like a son, seems to be the favorite and smartest of all those in Hooterville!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Green Acres was one of the best series from back in the 60's...the writing and the cast ensemble were superb. This is one of those series I can watch over and over and never tire of the jokes and down-home humor.
