Great Piece of Glass!
It doesn't get much better. The G2 is a fantastic piece of glass. I have, so far, shot a stage show and wildlife with nary a problem. For the price I'm going to give this two thumbs up. Image also 2 thumbs up. I was expecting some fall off at the edges at 600 mm but my eye can't detect it and nothing shows in the blow ups so if its there it is so minor I'm not going to worry about it. I shoot with a Canon 5D M4, Canon 70D and use 10-22mm, 18-135mm, 28-135mm, 70-200 f2.8, and now the 150-600. this lens has lived up to the many reviews I have read. while we all want the 500 and 600 from canon, they are very big and expensive. I have used the zoom feature of this lens although normally I am all the way out at 600. its a great value. I have used a duffle bag lined with towels while connected to a 7D for storage and transport. I also got the lens wrap as its out in the car a lot for protection. Best of all compromises
my Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens meets all expectations. the lens behaves as specified. test shots indoors, using tripod and mirror lockup, still required a minimum shutter speed to get sharp pictures at the long end; to achieve proper exposure with these slow apertures requires a higher ISO/low noise (good low light) camera. I cannot comment on the Tap-in console, as I have not performed any focus testing yet to determine if lens corrections are necessary.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great build quality of this lens. Like how you can lock it in any zoom position. On a crop sensor camera you really reach out and touch the animals you're shooting. Very sharp images. Well built and long reach
Lens is a strong performer and gives me the focal length to take bird and wildlife images. Images are a little soft at 600mm, but I haven't dialed in the focus adjustments with the TAP dock, which I ordered and will arrive in couple of days. Great for fast moving subjects
I take photos of NFL football games and Bald Eagles and its plenty fast to catch up with them and get tack sharp photos. Great length at 600mm and is not as heavy as other models but a tripod is preferred. For the money its hard to beat. I bought it over the Tamron 150 - 600mm zoom lens.

Tamron G2 150-600mm a great value and high quality
I have always only bought Canon lenses so was hesitatant about Tamron but could not afford to pay the $$$$ for a Canon in the 150-600mm range. The G2 150-600 lens has not disappointed. An extraordinary lens at an extraordinary price.
I rented the Tamron G2 before buying it. I take handheld pictures only of wildlife and landscapes. My goal was to determine if I could lug these behemoths for eight hours around places like zoos and wildlife refuges. I could. No problem. The pictures are extraordinarily sharp throughout the range, and cropping 6000x4000px pictures provides me with the closeups that I have been wanting for so long. The zoom ring rotates left to right, 150 to 600, which is a more natural and comfortable rotation (as opposed to the Sigma competition).
