Great 4K smart TV
The Bravia was relatively easy to set up. There are a selection of apps that are featured, and some more that can be loaded on. However, many of those on a Roku are not available on this TV. Due to this lack of choice, I would have given it a 4.5-star rating if possible. The picture quality is superb, and there are many minute adjustments that can be made for motion and clarity that was not discernible to me. The usual settings work best for my general viewing.
I thought i could retire my Roku, but I still have it hooked up for more choices, especially news channels. I do not have cable or satellite, so rely on streaming news. The android choices on the Bravia are limited in this aspect. Also, some of the loaded apps hang and lose their functionality on the Bravia, like the Sling TV app. I had to switch to the Roku to get Sling to work again, same with Fox Sports Go. The resolution quality on the Roku cannot be compared to the native app on the Bravia, so that's a bummer. Hope that Sony fixes this problem so the native apps work more seamlessly.
All in all a nice upgrade for me. It was a toss-up between the LG65UH7700 and this Bravia, and most pro reviews rated the Sony just slightly better. I'm now curious how the LG would compare.
