With that said, it would be wise to design a scope to excel in early-morning and late-evening light. These scopes, with their 4X magnification range, will give you great versatility whether you are hunting whitetails in the dense southern pine forest of Georgia, or prairie dogs on the wide open ranges of Wyoming.

  • Top favorable review

    Good at price point.

Lenses seem well polished. Supposed to have etched Reticle like expensive scopes, which is cool. Power ring& focus a tad tough to adjust.

  • Top critical review

    Not for long range

I bought this after reading reviews that said Athlon scopes were as good as Vortex. My son hunts with Vortex scopes and the Athlon is nowhere near in the same league. This 4-16 is definitely not for long range shooting. At 100 yards I could not see bullet impact on the target with the scope on the highest setting. I used my old Nikon 4-12 to check the target. Holes were clear as day through the Nikon but invisible through the Athlon. Probably would make a good cheap scope for plinking but would not rely on it for hunting. Adjustment turrets feel mushy and focus is very stiff to turn.

  • Not bad..

The Talos is good scope @ its price point! But Leupold, Burris or Nikon its not!! Clear glass all the way to 16x but it does loose a little light on top power. In fact, 16x power would not be a option in lower light conditions. The elevation & windage adjustments (like the Neos) does have a little slop but it doesn't seem to affect P.O.I. The finish is nicely done & the parallax adjustment is slightly easier to turn then the Neos. The glass actually seems a smidge better than the Neos! but its hard to tell. Will see what kinda recoil it will stand up to! it does have a very good Lifetime warranty..

  • Very poor scope overall

The eye relief is very poor and hard to get a clear sighting on a target and a clear view of the reticle at the same time. Lens Cap Cover broke first time I tried to install. Completely disappointed in this product.

  • Athlon Talos

It's clear, easy to adjust. I only wish it had a bit more eye relief. I like it enough I will be buying another.
