Common point of failure in Cabrio washing machines.
I have very mixed feelings about this product. The tub seal is the single most common point of failure on the Whirlpool Cabrio washers. When it leaks, water pours into the gearbox, rusting out the main bearing, which of course in its finite wisdom, Whirlpool has made non-replaceable, so budget $100 to $150 to buy a new gearbox, plus labor if you don't do the work yourself. Unfortunately, I bought a Cabrio 6 years ago. I have spend about $250 on parts, including the new transmission, pump motor, rotating seal, and suspension rods. If I had hired a repairman, the total repair cost would have exceeded my purchase price by now. As long as I decide to keep it, I'll need to replace this rotating seal every couple of years as preventive maintenance.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
