Nice picture, just OK for streaming services
To do streaming services you'll need a google play account to download apps (like Netflix, Hulu, etc..) from. We only do streaming services so I can't rate how it plays cable. For apps, it works fine, but I've had to uninstall some upgrades to make the app work (Netflix). Also, Hulu is not updated enough to switch profiles, so if you share an account you are out of luck. An Excellent TV
I have been buying Sony for many years and have never been disappointed. You pay a bit more for the brand, but you get it back in quality. Sony does an excellent job of keeping their Smart TV software up to date too. In the 18 months we have had the TV, we have had at least 3 SW updates, and the TV continues to work perfectly. Bright, super clear picture in a solid frame!
This is a great TV with really good picture quality and decent sound. Like having the Android TV OS and features to integrate with my other Google Home devices. The OS can be a little sluggish, but nothing that ruins the experience, especially considering you get access to all the apps in the Google Play store. I added a USB memory stick for extra storage and it sped things up a bit. The 49 inch was a perfect fit for my NYC apartment living room. I was expecting the actual screen to be much smaller but the bezels are incredibly thin on this TV. The style is very modern and looks classic with a solid construction build. Not too heavy and easily wall mounted with any generic mount. Lots of inputs on this TV and lots of options in the menus (including ability to control the status lights).
