NotesWinter is coming! ABBATH unleashes the fury of a Nordic blizzard at full force with his crushing debut album. The heavy-metal icon and former IMMORTAL front-man returns with a self-titled album packed with his signature razor-sharp riffs and black metal anthems. Stellar cuts "Winter Bane", "Ashes of the Damned", "To War", "Fenrir Hunts" and more are nothing short of true heavy metal thunder. 'Abbath' is the black metal album of 2016, and returns him to his rightful place as the face of the genre.
Last year, the members of the Norweigan Black Metal band split up. One member said that Abbath
had substance abuse problems. Well, Abbath formed his own band, named after himself. The other 2 members,
King-bass(Gorgoroth?) & Creature-drums round out the rest of the band. This cd sounds a bit like the last Immortal
album, All shall fall & the band simply known as "I". If you're a fan of Immortal, it will only take a few listens to
really enjoy this cd. There are slow songs & fast songs. Abbath hasn't lost a step, rather just picking up where he
left off. Most extreme Metal fans will love this cd. Highly recommended.
Just an amazing cd and the bonus are well worth it being an Immortal "cover" (really? being it was his band but the production is amazing) and A Judas Priest cover which has to be heard! Tight cd all around and Abbath is one the most modest fun loving guys in any scene! A must get!
