Does what it is supposed to do well. If your knife is not happy with it you will need to proceed with #1 stroking gently but firmly to obtain the angl
I now own two of these - one for my Shun knives in the kitchen and another for a pocketknife that I wear/carry/use and sharpen on a daily basis. I am aware that this is not the correct angle for a high dollar CPM S30V workhorse of a pocketknife BUT sharp is sharp and regular resharpening / honing is all that is required in most instances.
