Great compass for all outdoorsmen!
As a retired forester of a 45 year career, I have always the Ranger a found it very reliable and pragmatic. I like the declination adjustment feature as I traveled to many isogonic areas. I have several that have metal lids. The lanyards are very sturdy and the only issues I have experienced are a large bubble in the needle compartment and some flaws in the mirror. But these are after 10+ years of use and many immersions in “hat-floater” Swamps and large creeks. All in all a fantastic outdoorsman tool!
