Fighting Drag
The use of the rear drag makes this a valuable asset to this product. I fish with very light line and this feature has allowed me to land fish several pounds larger than the breaking strength of the line I use.

Shimano rear drag reels, a must have for down riggers.
Not quite as good as my other rear drag Shimano’s (that they don’t make anymore) but it works good enough. When I am running two rods on my down riggers they are real sweet to have. Just flip the drag release and down you go. Flip it back on when down and tighten your line.
