Keeps kids away but fast to retrieve.
I installed mine at on the side of my bed not under the desk. I believe it is stable enough to hold my safe with gun and rounds. I set up the fingerprint and tried it multyple time and it seems to work as intended. Easy to set up and instal. Kids cannot open it and at the same time is easy and fast to open incase of an emergency. I am really happy with my purchase.
