Bravo Bb Clarinet Synthetic Reeds - Box of 5 Good synthetic reeds cost a lot more than cane, making it hard for musicians to justify trying them out, but Bravo™ reeds are priced competitively with cane.

  • Reasonable value for money.

Pack of 5 makes this a viable option to ordinary cane reeds. Advantages:- They played first up. No soaking. No break in time. They feel different to cane reeds, I find them a good practice reed. Easy to play. Compared to other brands of synthetic reeds I find this brand, in the 5 pack suits my needs better- especially for price. The strength seems to be different to what one normally uses. They come in 1/4 step reed strengths and its necessary to see what strength suits yourself - it isn't necessarily the same as the cane reed strength you use now. No odd cane taste, which to me, sometimes tastes like insecticide. Could be my taste buds. Cons:- Upfront cost seems expensive but they seem to last a long time and retain play-ability. A different tone to cane but acceptable. Awfully hard to align black reed on black mouthpiece. Much easier on the clear and white mouthpieces I use sometimes.

  • Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

These are okay, nice even if you can get them set on the mouthpiece. the bottom is so slick, the reed keeps moving as you tighten the ligature. maybe roughing up the underside is what is needed.
