2016 F150 tailgate step cover knockoff
Definitely a Chinese knockoff, this will NOT work without cutting it. Arrived with several broken tabs and falling out of the box, can’t believe it made it to my house. I’ll give some positive, it comes with the 2 plastic pieces that are labeled “not a step” that go on each side of the step once it’s released. That’s the end of the positive, it is inferior plastic you can tell immediately it is more brittle than factory. The area of plastic where the factory step button resides is manufactured incorrectly and will not work as it’s. The molding is reversed from the factory and when the button is installed /slid into place it will immediately depress the release arm and will not allow the step to lock in the closed position. In short one side of the mount is open between the corner supports/slides the other has a filler for strength and to keep it from flexing and failing during the operation of pressing the button. I had to cut the plastic out to make it fit and now it’s obvious that the button structure is weak and will fail at some time. It’s an ok product but just spend the $120 and get a factory one. $35k-70K truck pending options....spend the extra pennies and get the correct parts.

NO instructions!
This product might have been pretty good, but they sent NO instructions with it. You have to have a "bradding" tool to put it together.
