NotesEmerson, Lake & Palmer were one of the most successful, innovative and groundbreaking British groups of the golden age of progressive rock. As well as creating spectacular 'live' shows that incorporated advanced technology and showmanship, they also recorded a cascade of powerful albums that sold in the millions around the world. ELP was formed in 1970 by flamboyant keyboard player Keith Emerson (The Nice), singer/guitarist Greg Lake (King Crimson) and drummer/percussionist Carl Palmer (Atomic Rooster). Blending jazz and classical music with a wide-screen hard-rock style, ELP were one of the torchbearers of the progressive rock sound and were one of the most commercially successful bands of the 1970s. By the mid-70s they were as big a live draw as Led Zeppelin. Despite the tragic deaths of Emerson and Lake in 2016, their amazing and inspirational music very much lives on. This lavishly packaged box set showcases the immense musical talents of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and contains a wealth of audio and visual treasures, from 1970 to 2010.
