Nice case for older Palms + a classic Palm PDA
The case is well-build and very nice. However, it fits the pod Palm Pilots slightly better than the Palm III. It's light and durable. And it looks very well, of course The Palm IIIe itself is not bad if one expects great battery life (more than 2 weeks of normal use on two AAA batteries). OF course, the device is only compatible with older computers - it requires a serial port for connection and aproper OS (the Window XP or older, for example). If you use Linux on your desktop, you most probably will be able to use the Palm withou issues (with a proper USB to Serial converter and the jPilot software). And don't forget that the Palm IIIe has only 2 MB of RAM which can limit number of installed applications.

My Palm IIIe
I've been using a Palm IIIe since 2000. They do eventually wear out. I've had two used ones in the past. I was happy to see a new one, sealed in the original packaging. It works great! I downloaded all my data from the one that was failing. The batteries in the box didn't work, but after 17 years I wouldn't expect them to. I believe I set for a few years now.

Could not use
The unit seemed OK and charged correctly. Problem was, I thought I was getting a PDA that was consistent with a Palm Pilot PDA. This phone did not have a way to download data using the USB port of my computer. Had to return it.
