Don't give up on the first try!
At first I wasn't too sure. I followed directions and saw little change. Next day, I decided to try again, this time exerting more pressure and saw a huge improvements. Following day, I decided to try another time. Third was the charm! Iron looks almost new. Soleplate was nonstick and I didn't see any damage.
